Three Children Are Born to Us On This Day

Creating Slow Time in the Contemporary World

Three Children Are Born to Us on This Day is a collaborative exhibition by ten creators from diverse regions and cultural backgrounds, each with their distinct styles and values.

Born into a digital age that embraces the rapid accumulation of capital, these creators employ their art as a means to explore their world and find their unique place within it. "Three Children Are Born to Us on This Day" disrupts the natural rhythm, interpreting the variations caused by the compression of time and space in contemporary society. The fast pace of life in the 21st century compels these creators to revisit classical photographic materials and techniques. They employ meticulous shooting processes to construct a "slow time-space," which shields life from the relentless demands of speed. Simultaneously, the creators' personal attributes permeate their works, allowing viewers to connect with the warmth within the imagery, experience the visual allure, and engage with the life context that underlies each piece.

EXHIBITION Interaction DESIGN

The overarching theme of the exhibition is to "collaborate with the creators, delving into profound dialogues regarding the life trajectories that underpin their works." The key visual element consists of the footprints of the ten creators, linking the entrance of the exhibition space. Visitors are encouraged to wear rain boots and step into paint to view the objects displayed on the walls by the creators. This interactive approach invites viewers to partake in collaborative creation, reinterpret the artworks, and engage in meaningful discussions through their unique perspectives and movements.

The exhibition concept manual and artists’ statement are designed in a dual-sided, bilingual (Mandarin and English) card format, featuring one artist per card for visitors to freely pick up at the exhibition.
